October News
Fantastic Fall
It finally feels like fall and we are enjoying the cooler temperatures on the playground. Students have done an amazing job working and learning in their classrooms. This month the staff and students at Hudson are celebrating Bully Prevention Month with activities and lessons designed to help students identify and report bullying. At the end of the month, we will commit to a kind, inclusive, and safe learning environment for everyone all year long.
On Monday, October 31, students will have a Halloween Party and Parade. The parade will be held at 1:30 with the room parties immediately following. The parade will be held outside weather permitting. Please be sure your child's costume is appropriate for school. No weapons or scary masks, please.
Bully Prevention Month
Over the course of October, students will be celebrating Bully Prevention Month. Students will learn what bullying is and where it happens. Then, students will learn how to be an UPstander if they see or hear bullying. Next, students will learn about unity and how a unified school community helps everyone feel a sense of belonging and safe. Finally, students will sign a pledge for a bully-free school all year.
Students are encouraged to wear orange on Wednesday, October 19 for Unity Day. Wearing orange is a sign that you support those who have been bullied and are uniting to make a difference.
Veterans Day Hero
In honor of Veteran's Day on Friday, November 11, we are creating a Veterans Wall in the entryway of the school. We would like as many families as possible to contribute to the Veterans Wall. If you or a family member are a Veteran, please consider sending a photo and completing the information on the Veteran's Day Hero document. Send the completed information to school with your child. We will return it to you at the end of November.
We will have a morning assembly at school on Friday, November 11th. Veterans are invited to join us for this brief assembly at 7:45 AM. Veterans will introduce themselves and tell the students in which branch of the military they served. We will conclude with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Please let your child's teacher know by November 7 if a Veteran will be attending the assembly on November 11 at 7:45 Am.
