Conferences will be held virtually this year for Blue Valley West students. Information regarding sign up times for teachers was sent out in a separate email Wednesday, Oct. 21st.
Virtual Students
Virtual Education students and families will receive individualized communication/emails from their teachers regarding the process for sign-up times for those courses.
Picture Day for Virtual Students, Senior Last Chance, and make-up day
Will take place on November 19th from 3-7pm at the Hilltop Campus by appointment. A link will be provided at a later date to schedule your appointment.

Be a junior or senior in a science class OR
Be an underclassman in an AP science class
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
Have a science GPA of at least 3.5, and submit verification

Hi Everyone! Diversity Club is starting up on Monday October 26th at 3:15 via Zoom! We’re encouraging previous members and new members to join again this year! Congratulations to Julia Misemer who won the 6A state individual golf championship on Monday! The JAGUAR girls golf team brought up the 2nd place team honor as well.
Winter Sports begin on Monday, November 16th. If you have a student who plans to tryout/participate in boys or girls basketball, wrestling, boys swim and dive or girls bowling, it is not too early to get the required packet of forms completed and turned in to the Athletics Office at West. If you participated in a fall sport, there are no additional forms required. The packet can be picked up in the office at West or found on our website at www.bvwestjags.com

Free Virtual Step-by-Step through the FAFSA Program on Wednesday Oct 28 6:30-8pm
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is the federal application necessary to get free and low-cost money for college
Johnson County Library is offering a free virtual FAFSA program on Wednesday Oct 28 6:30-8pm. Join us as Jason Anderson, college and career planner, walks line-by-line through the FAFSA form, using it to explain the ins-and-outs of the college admissions and financial aid process.

High School Students Opportunity to Earn College Credits
The College Now program provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credits through concurrent enrollment while completing their high school requirements.Start an application here.
The College Now and Quick Step Plus enrollment deadline has been extended to November 9. The deadline to complete placement testing or to request a placement waiver has been extended to October 30. Due to required social distancing measures in our Testing Center, seating for placement testing will be limited. To ensure enrollment by the deadline, schedule an appointment to complete any required placement testing as early as possible.
Virtual College Rep Visits
Every year admissions representatives from colleges across the country come to Blue Valley West to meet with students and provide information about their institutions. This year these visits will be occurring but they will be held virtually. All college rep visits can be found in Naviance under the colleges tab. At the moment we have 40 visits scheduled and more are added daily. Please sign up in Naviance to attend any session you are interested in.
AP Exam Registration Information
This is a 2 step process if you plan on taking the exam!!
Register for the course and exam through College Board myap.collegeboard.org
Make sure you have your join code from your teacher before trying to register
Everyone enrolled in the course must register for the course in College Board. Teachers use the instructional materials from College Board in their classrooms
Registration for the exam will be marked “yes” for you; if you don’t want to take the exam please change “yes” to “no” or an exam will be ordered for you. Not everyone has to take the exam. If you marked “no” during this step you don’t have to move to step 2
If you marked “yes” you are taking the AP exam in College Board you MUST go to Total Registration to pay for the exam.
Registration Deadline: October 30th
Exam Fees:
$107 per course unless you are taking AP Research or AP Seminar and those exams are $142
Any full year exam registered for or paid for after October 30th will be charged a $40 late fee
