The Weekly Hoot
March 4-10, 2019
Greetings All -
Happy Friday all! Could we PLEASE get a break in this weather??? LOL! But it is all good today...it is FRIDAY, we have one week to Spring Break, and I am headed to Louisiana today to see my Morgan and her family for Mardi Gras! Laissez le bon temps rouler!!!
Next week is going to be a busy week. I appreciate how each of you are stepping up to the plate and getting the students ready for benchmarks and the real STAAR. It takes a village, and you are pulling together wonderfully. It seems like such a daunting task, but I know we will all prevail.
Just a reminder that the Stop the Bleed Presentation will be on our campus this Wednesday instead of high school's. We are so appreciative of the Sheriff's Department getting us these kits. I know we have completed the "Stop the Bleed" certification before, but as we all know, grant stipulations don't care about that. ;)
Man, this has been a rough week with kiddos being sick, our own illnesses, our own kiddos' illnesses, spring fever, lots of substitutes, etc... I am included in the group of folks who are all at our wit's end! LOL! I found myself one day being "testy" with a student who was up in the office because they weren't feeling well and had been sent to school anyway. I had to stop myself when I realized that child had probably asked to stay home and it wasn't their fault that they were at school today. Our nerves are shot right now ya'll. I have overheard teachers talk to students in ways that would not normally happen. Please remember when your nerves are shot and you are having a bad day to think before you speak. These kids deserve the best versions of us, even the ones that can work our last nerve! :) Always be careful of the way you speak to students because not only do they hear it, but everyone around you hears it too.
Off my soapbox now...
Thanks in advance for a great next 4 and a half school days. You all are truly amazing! We are almost there!!!!
Love to all,
Marcy
