PAY IT FORWARD!
8th Grade Community Service Learning Project
Why?
In October, South Carolina was devastated by the flood. We were fortunate enough to receive support from across the country. Now, we want to pay it forward to another community in need.
Who?
You may have seen Flint, Michigan in the news due to the water crisis. For a long time, Flint has been stricken by poverty.
Between 2009 and 2013, 41.5% of Flint citizens lived below the poverty line.
The child poverty rate in Flint is 66.5%.
25% of Flint families have an annual income of below $15,000 per year.
The median household income in Flint is $26,339. The national median income is $51,759.
The people of Flint need help. They don't have clean running water to shower or wash their hands. That's why we are partnering with Flint Southwestern Classical Academy, a 7-12 grade school in Flint to help provide hand sanitizers and hand wipes.
We are collecting:
Hand sanitizer
Hand wipes
We will be collecting these items until May 13. Thank you for your support!
