Description of the disorder
It is a result of failure of the mitochondria, it is present in every cell except the red blood cells. During failure less and less energy is made in the cell throughout the body. They are usually caused by a mutation in the mitochondrial DNA
Treatment for Mitochondrial Disease
There is no cure at the moment for mitochondrial disease. There is no specific treatment for any for the mitochondrial disease.
Where is it located?
Every cell has a mitochondria except for the red blood cells. It convertes the energy of the food molecules to into ATP that's powers most cells.
