Principal Update
2/3/23
Dear LP Families,
Happy Friday!
I'm sad to say I have spent the better part of this week at home recovering from COVID. Nonetheless, the building hummed along thanks to our outstanding staff members; they didn't skip a beat.
I included a lot of great photos this week from our last community circle, World Read Aloud Day, and different ways students are collaborating in the building. Be sure to check those out! In addition to those great things, we are honored to start our celebration of Black History Month. Stay tuned for the different plans we have to create experiences for our students to honor the contributions and legacy of African Americans across U.S. history and society.
Last but not least, I want to thank our amazing PTA Board for working so hard to bring the Glow Dance to LP! We are overwhelmed by the interest and turnout for Friday's dance. A few things to keep in mind:
*Parking will be a bit of a challenge so give yourself plenty of time to find a spot. Parking will be available in the bus loop, south side of the building, and back in the Central Office lot.
*We are not taking any RSVPs at the door as we have reached maximum capacity for the gym. If you did not already sign-up and pay, we cannot make accommodations at the door.
*If students do not attend school Friday due to illness, they cannot come to the dance. Please work with the PTA to refund your money.
*This is NOT a drop-off event. An adult needs to accompany students and their siblings.
*Safety is our top priority. Please actively supervise your children during the dance.
*Have fun! It's wonderful that we can all be together like this once again.
I am sad that I will not be able to join you because I am still in isolation but, I will be there in spirit. Capture lots of photos for me!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Bello

LP PTA Needs Donations for Prizes/Silent Auctions
Happy Friday, LP Family and Friends!
We need some help from any of our LP family who owns a business locally.
The PTA is looking for donations of items that can be used as:
- prizes for our students
- prizes/gifts for attendees at our future events (we want to do some silent auctions)
They can be anything- gift certificates, books, toys, museum tickets, movie theater tickets, etc. All family friendly stuff of course- it can be for any age group since we will be using them for both children and adults. If you are one of these people please reach out to me via email khart@lumetrics.com
Thanks in advance for the help!

Arrival- Morning Drop-off!
I was hoping the additional cones and signage would help support a safer morning drop-off but unfortunately we still have vehicles going around cars instead of waiting in line. This jeopardizes the safety of our students.
If you are familiar with picking up your student from school than this will make sense to you! We are going to move drop-off to the same location as pick-up, by the gym doors towards the back of the building. We will still have a single file of cars but I believe this will help keep traffic from backing up to Pardee Rd. with the additional space.
A few things to remember:
*Doors do not open until 8:20am.
*Do not drop your student off early. We do not have supervision until 8:20am.
*Students should wait in your car until you pull up to the gym door. We will unload students one car at a time.
*On average, there are 35 cars during morning arrival. This should not take long once families are used the routine.
*Do not go around other vehicles. You place our kids at risk of being hit by car.
As always, thank you for your continued support in making our procedures as safe as they can be!
