Mission Elementary

Riding the Wave of Excellence!

August 14, 2022

Dear Families,

I'd like to introduce myself as the new principal of Mission Elementary and at the same time welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. I am confident that together we will accomplish great things as we team to provide excellent educational experiences for each and every student! I am beyond excited and can't wait to start the year!

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 17. The first three days (August 17, 18, and 19) are all minimum days, which means students will start school at 8:15am and will be dismissed at 12:25pm. I invite you to visit our website for up-to-date information. A more detailed school schedule is linked HERE.

Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten Orientation are on Monday, August 15 from 4:00pm-5:00pm in our Multipurpose Room (MPR). Come meet our Kindergarten team and learn important information about our school if you are a parent of a Kindergarten student.

Community Sneak Peak: Due to privacy reasons, we are not able to post student names and their classes. Come meet our office staff on Tuesday, August 15 from 5:00pm-6:00pm in our MPR to get your student's class and teacher information. You will also get a dashboard card for your vehicle to help us make car pick-up as efficient as possible. If you prefer, you can also check your parent portal on Tuesday, August 16 after 12:00pm to get your student class and teacher information.

School Meals: All meals will continue to be offered at no cost to all scholars. This year, however, students will learn and use their lunch number for accountability purposes.

ASAP is our before and after school program. If you wish to enroll your scholar, please use the ASAP Application linked here. Paper copies are available in our office. Space is limited.

School Uniforms: We recommend that students wear uniforms because when they wear uniforms, students focus on their learning rather than their clothing. Uniforms can be purchased at Costco, Walmart, and other stores. I recommend that you call the store and ask if they sell school uniforms prior to going. The uniform consists of:

  • Tops: White, grey, light blue, or navy shirts or blouses (only Mission logos allowed)

  • Bottoms: Navy blue, khaki, or black pants, blue jeans, shorts, skirt or jumper

  • Shoes: Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes

Have you completed your student's data confirmation? In order for students to continue their enrollment at Mission, it is necessary that you complete the online Data Confirmation. You will be confirming that the information about your student that we have in our system is still accurate or making any necessary updates. By doing this your student will be enrolled in classes with their name on the class list when school starts on August 17.

To complete your data confirmation, please log into your Aeries Parent Portal.

Need help? You can contact our office or visit oside.us/Page/137 for directions and video tutorials. Our office number is (760) 966-8700. Registration hours are from 9:00am-2:00pm. Our office will not be able to assist with registration on the first day of school until after 10am.
