WWI: How Did it Start?

What is MANIA?

MANIA is the basic acronym for the causes of this war. Here is what each letter stands for and how it caused the war:

Militarism- This basically means that countries were stockpiling military equipment.(Weapons, vehicles, uniforms, etc)

Alliances- This means that countries made very entangled alliances with others. This meant that if the country they were protecting went to war, that country would go to war as well.

Nationalism- This basically means that one country claims it is better than an other country.

Imperialism- This means that a country tries to take over other land.

Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand- On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated.
