Our students have been busy with Veterans Day activities and Friendship Week. Students wrote letters to our military overseas through Operation Gratitude with our military liaision, Mrs. Thornton. They also practiced carrying out acts of kindness and learned about showing gratitude with our guidance counselor, Mrs. Ybarra. Students have been busy sending shout outs to their classmates and teachers on the Student Shout Out Board. It's been a great week at Clyde Erwin!

We have three important reminders for you this week:

1. We are selling popcorn this week, delivery will be on Friday. Bags are $1. We will continue to offer popcorn once a month for the remainder of the year.

2. Tuesday is Make-Up Picture Day and Interim Reports go home.

3. Friday is our monthly fire drill.

This week we celebrated Veterans Day. While we could not plan a grand celebration due to the current pandemic, I wanted to share with you a project that students took part in, to recognize this day.

Classrooms participated in writing letters, drawing pictures, and making cards to donate to Operation Gratitude. I mailed these in, along with a message to Operation Gratitude explaining that our school wanted to show appreciation to former and current military service members. I explained that CEEMS is part of a military community and that many of our students are a part of a military family themselves.
