Picnic Trip Cancelled

As we look ahead to Monday's weather forecast, it appears that a heat index of over 90 degrees is expected. After taking into consideration walking to and from the park with over 200 students and trying to monitor heat/sun exposure, the 4th grade team has decided that it is in our students' best interest to remain on campus. A variety of activities are planned so that the kids can enjoy the outdoors but rotate indoors to get some respite from the heat and humidity.

Students should still bring a cold lunch, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a beach towel or small blanket - we plan to picnic on campus! Parents who have volunteered to help supervise activities are welcome to join us for lunch, which will be from 11:15 - 11:45. If you volunteered to bring water and are able to bring popsicles at 3:00 instead, please let your classroom teacher know via email.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but it is difficult to make last minute decisions for such a large group, and we want to plan for the safest and best possible experience for our children.
