Week 33 - 4/26/2019: Monthly PBIS focus is Integrity
The PTO has been collecting tons of stuff for the garage sale on Saturday! I hope you can make it by to see what you might like to add to you home, AND make some money for the PTO! The weather is supposed to be great, so hopefully we'll have a big turn out!
The next PTO meeting is May 9 at 6:00 and will be in our library. Adam Steward from HSD will be here to give updates on our new gym and turnaround, and after the meeting we'll be talking Glow Golf! If you can't make it at 6 but are willing and able to help plan the glow golf event, please come at 7!
Glencoe Youth Football is already open for fall registration! They have opportunities for students in k-8, so see the flyer at the bottom of this newsletter for more information!
Congratulations to Mrs. Richter's class, Mrs. Ravins' class, and Mr. McDowall's class for completing their ELA tests this week! Next week will be Mrs. Schwartz, Mrs. Chronister, and both 3rd grade classrooms doing their ELA tests. If your child will be testing, please help them be prepared with good sleep and a nice breakfast on test days! We'll be supplying snacks and breaks throughout the day.
The after school soccer starts next week on Tuesday, May 7 from 2:05 to 3:45. If you haven't yet turned in your form, it's too late to get the activity bus for this week, but you can still join!
Mrs. Clayton, our school counselor, is partnering with Deb Darmata from Washington County to provide an informational evening on suicide prevention for parents. Deb will lead a Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training on May 16th from 6-7:30 PM. This evening will be for adults only, so please find child care if needed and join us for this important training. Pizza and beverages will be provided, so we are asking you to RSVP by Monday, May 13 to claytonj@hsd.k12.or.us Hope you can join us!
Hopefully you have received information regarding the teacher walk out day on May 8, next Wednesday. Similar to many districts across the state, HSD has decided to close the schools on that day. Vermont Hills will not be running either, so be sure to plan ahead! For more information regarding the walk out and the budget, please go to the district website.
Monday our kinders go on a walking field trip to the library and McDonald's. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous and it should be a lot of tun!
Don't forget the Proud to Be HSD festival coming up on May 11. For the first time we will have Shadow Hawk, our mascot, in the mascot challenge! I have an all day meeting that I can't miss, so unfortunately I won't be there, but I hope you can make it!
Have a wonderful weekend!
