Bulldog Bites
Your source for all things SGF
Dear SGF Families,
Some current and former SGF students will be taking part in an amazing weekend of events to celebrate Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. day! We have also completed our first week of Everybody Reads and our #BulldogOutofOffice is keeping our mascot busy.
Let's get to this week's stories.
Restorative Justice Committee
The South Glens Falls High School Restorative Justice Program members have been invited to participate in the 2023 Saratoga Educational Equity Network (SEEN) Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Weekend.
The SGF team will be on hand to discuss Restorative Justice at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Saratoga Public Library. For more information about the event, click here.
Everybody Reads
We have had an amazing first week of our 2023 Everybody Reads program. Our students and staff have been busy decorating and reading to celebrate Fenway and Hattie. Our readers will be up to Chapter 7 as of today. Be sure to see our official Everybody Reads 2023 website for our reading calendar.
Remember to keep an eye out in the community for copies of Fenway and Hattie popping up at local businesses as part of our scavenger hunt!
Where in the World is SGF's Bulldog?
Hallo/Bonjour/Ciao/Allegra from Staubbach Falls in Switzerland! Located in the Burmese Highlands, this is the highest waterfall in Switzerland. Situated in a tiny Swiss town, this waterfall has become famous on social media for the breathtaking sight of the water falling off a cliff in a valley.
According to the Lauterbrunnen tourism website, the Staubbachfall inspired Goethe to write his poem “The song of ghosts over waters.”
Check our social media channels on Saturday for the latest stop.
Kindness Closet Delivery update
The SGF Kindness Closet is open on Saturday, Jan. 21. The delivery service will also be available. Still, going forward, we will require that all Google forms for delivery be entered by the Wednesday before the closet is open. Please have your forms entered this month by Wednesday, Jan. 18.
This move will allow our team more time to prepare our orders.
Battle for the Bridge
Prepare yourselves for the Battle for the Bridge!
South Glens Falls faculty will take on Glens Falls staff to benefit the 2023 South High Marathon Dance. The battle will occur at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Glens Falls High School.
