Students will debate the resolution “Government helps us make the healthier choice” in groups of three. A brief on the debate structure, rubric, overview and expectations will begin at 9:00 a.m. Each debate should take approximately 35 minutes.
Health Clients & Social Determinats Student Exhibition 11.20.13 (12:30 pm - 3:00pm)
Determinants Project-Students have been learning about the different determinants of health. The five main health determinant categories we have been studying are physical, biological, social, psychological, and economical. Within those categories, the students have been discovering some specific determinants of their health and the health of the community as a whole.
Clients Project: Students have investigated healthy nutritional choices and researched how healthy choices can affect your body. Through these investigations, students created a personal health journal to analyze their own health and create a personal improvement plan for themselves.
Students will present examples of determinants within their community backed by evidence from the interviews they have conducted with their selected clients. Students will present a blog that they have written about determinants that provides a thread between the community, themselves, and their client. Students will also seek to answer the question “why should we eat healthy?” in their habits. Lastly, students will present a health improvement plan that they created for a “client” which was one of the staff members of Health Leadership High School.
