The 9X Impact Update

November 10

The State of 9X

We've wrapped up the very first quarter at The 9X Impact and report cards were given to students to bring home on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Please take some time to review this first high school report card to celebrate successes and to help guide your student toward a plan for success in the classes that may need some attention.

On Friday, we met with our students in our first State of 9X meetings to talk about how the year has gone so far. We've experienced many successes and students are engaged in deep learning as they explore different interests and career pathways.

We also discussed areas that we need to improve in as a school. As we transition from Q1 to Q2, we will be holding students to a higher standard of expectations as they now have official high school grades and now are in our eyes officially 9th graders - the transition from middle school is complete.

On behalf of the entire 9X Impact staff, I would like to ask our parent community to partner with us in working with our students as we work with them to create more opportunities for success.

This includes:

  • getting to class on time and having a sense or purpose at all times
  • keeping cell phones and headphones/EarPods away during class and while in the hallways
  • not bringing food and drink into classrooms and hallways
  • engaging in class, asking questions, and submitting assignments on time

Your help in setting high expectations for these areas will provide a strong school-home partnership that will ensure we are all working together so that our 9th graders have a successful year.

I would also like to ask that if you have any concerns or questions that you bring them to your student's teachers or me. We are all here to create the best program possible for your student and your input only makes the program stronger.

As always, I'm only a phone call (614-501-4017 office, 614-636-2404 google voice) or email ( away if you have any questions or concerns.

All the best,

Chris Brooks
