OneGP Virtual Weekly Update
May 28, 2021
Message from Dr. Delgado
Good afternoon,
This past week we hosted a Community Town Hall to answer questions about OneGP Virtual Academy for the 2021-22 school year. It will be offered for Y5s-8th grade, pending enrollment. The enrollment information is listed below. You can click on the Town Hall link to watch if you were unable to attend this week.
If you have books or instruments that need to be returned to your home school, you can drop off at any time M-F from 8-4 in the office. Please make sure instruments are returned by 6/11 to allow the teachers time to clean and make any repairs. Textbooks should be returned by 6/18.
In order to ensure that our Chromebook devices can be properly returned to our buildings and updated, we are asking all students who have checked out a Chromebook to return their device to their home building beginning the week of June 21. Please be sure to return both your Chromebook AND charger to your school.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Sara Delgado
Enrollment Form for OneGP Virtual Academy 2021/2022
GPPSS will continue to offer a virtual learning option for families Y5-8th grade for the 2021-22 school year. GPPSS will follow health and safety recommendations from the State of Michigan and CDC for in-person instruction, but we recognize that some families face challenges that make returning to school difficult. Therefore, OneGP Virtual Academy will be provided for students seeking a rigorous virtual opportunity for their education.
Note: The OneGP Virtual Academy will be entirely dependent upon enrollment.

Elementary School Specials:
In order to locate your OneGP Virtual specials classes in Schoology, please look for a course named "Specials Sandbox for OGPV: Grade ____" (Pictured below).
As of January 25th, specific specials teachers have been assigned to OneGP Virtual specials for the remainder of the school year. This has caused some minor changes to our specials schedule. We will be following an ABCD schedule versus M-F. The delivery and format will remain the same. The ABCD schedule is linked below.
OneGP Virtual Specials will consist of 2 components.
Asynchronous lessons weekly in Schoology - New Schoology Courses have been created and the students have already been added. There is one Schoology Course per grade level and folders within for each specials class.
Weekly optional Enrichment Zoom sessions
Here is the New OneGP Virtual Specials Schedule starting on January 25th
Neither of these components are mandatory and are meant to provide opportunities for OneGP Virtual students to engage in specials work synchronously and asynchronously should they so desire. OneGP Virtual specials will not change in function or delivery. However, the district has assigned specific teachers to OneGP Virtual; therefore, the teacher that your child is seeing may change.
SUMMER CAMP INVENTION
This summer's Camp Invention will be offered as an in-person experience at Pierce Middle School OR as an at-home virtual experience.

Free Meal Service Update:
Starting next week (3/14-3/20) OneGP Virtual students/parents who would like to receive free meals will need to submit an order for those meals through our new ordering process. Those meals will then be picked up at the students/parents desired location during our new serving times. One GP Virtual students/parents will now pick up their meals at either North or South High School (depending on the location chosen during ordering), between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., every Thursday.
Orders for these meals will be submitted via a brief survey that will ask for 3 bits of information:
Last name
Number of OneGP virtual students in your family, and
Which pick up location (North or South High School).
The district asks that parents/students submit an order every Sunday for the meals that will be picked up that Thursday.
Food Service Order link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfC1SIVnlARvk2QcG0PRWR30TnfkxMO5BvsoMwrPKgZ_m2jpA/viewform
For example: If you would like to pick up meals for your OneGP virtual student on Thursday March 18th, your order will need to be submitted no later than Sunday, March 14th by 11:00 p.m. Any orders received after Sunday the 14th at 11 p.m. will be submitted for the following week’s pick up.
