The World of Westwood Wolves

Choose Your Own Adventure!

November 29-Dec. 3, 2021

From the principal's office...

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and time with friends/family. I bet some of you are glad we go back to school Monday- I know my two kids have had enough "together" time with each other. :)

We are gearing up for some fun the next three weeks; we have our virtual Alpha Awards assembly Tuesday morning, Caroling on the Creeks this Friday evening (our Wolfpack Chorus will be singing), and a Polar Express day coming later in December.

You may not know what our Alpha Awards are all about; in a pack of wolves, the alphas are the leaders. During our monthly assemblies, we recognize students who are being leaders in positive character, behavior, etc. We also celebrate birthdays from the month, and specialty teachers give awards for classes who are leading the way with behavior, work ethic, etc.

Each Friday, we have students our staff is "Howling with Pride" over; these students might be displaying great character, working hard in class, etc. They receive a wristband and the certificate from the adult.

You may be hearing about "paw points"; all of us who work in the building who are not classroom teachers are always on the lookout for classes who are following procedures in the hallways, cafeteria, specials, etc. Classes can earn paw points, and every few weeks, there is a fun treat for the classes who earn at least 15 points. Many classes earned an extra recess right before Thanksgiving break. Go, Wolves!

We also have our next food giveaway a week from Tuesday on December 7th at 3:30.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Crumby (your proud principal)
