The Nine Night Festival
Navaratri is a nine day festival celebrated by Hindus all over India. It last nine nights and is a festival to celebrate the god "Durga". This translates to remover of miseries of life, this festival usually takes place in the beginning of summer and winter. During this festival participants fast for nine days, but certain foods are allowed during the day.
Guggillu – Sundal
Sundal is a type of salad almost always containing chickpeas. It is eaten during Navaratri because it is low in cost, healthy, and taste delicious.
