Looking ahead at the 4th six weeks...

As we finish up the 3rd six weeks students will learn how to find the area of squares and rectangles. We have previously been working on fractions and the application of multiplication and division. Next six weeks we will cover all operations and geometry.

Please continue to encourage your child to practice their multiplication facts as often as possible. It is crucial that students have the foundation they need to be successful in mathematics. Please take a moment to read this article about fact fluency. http://www.fastertimestables.com/times-tables-are-really-important/

We will continue to have multiplication drills in class, so keep studying those facts! Check out some tips you can use at home to help with multiplication. I have been successful with making up rhymes or singing the facts that students struggle with. Remember that repetition is the key!
