Friday Message:
Happy Friday, Sharks!
SOL testing has begun here at Lakeside, so the building has been busy this week. Our reading SOL test was administered yesterday, so there are a handful of students taking make-up tests today. Coming up next week, we have the 8th-grade Civics on Tuesday and the math SOLs (all grades) on Thursday. As a reminder, students should be on time those days to help with starting the tests early.
Beyond the SOL tests, we had a busy week with a PTO meeting, the Social Media family Engagement Series, and a Jazz Band is off today to the Chantilly Jazz Festival with Mr. Gregg. Next week will see a different bell schedule on Tuesday/Thursday for the SOLs and we have the first of several drama performances coming up on Tuesday evening for our 6th-grade black day (6:30 PM) students and 8th-grade teal day students (7:30 PM).
Finally, below you will find a request for help with the 8th-grade dance. We are in need of family support to pull off this event, so for those with 8th-grade students, please see the information below.
Take care and have a great weekend!
