Principal's Message 12/19/22

Hello Zeebee families,

Tis the season to be jolly!

As we wrap up this first semester it is important to look back on where we have come from. Our latest school report card was posted this semester and showed growth in several areas. Freshman on Track, Graduation Rate, and Chronic Absenteeism all presented positive growth on the Illinois State Board of Education School Snapshot. Despite the challenges from the pandemic our school has weathered many of the circumstances that large comprehensive high schools dealt with. We thank you for your support and belief in our educators to guide your students towards success. We believe that every child can succeed with hard work and dedication. We will remain committed to support our students towards their goals.

We want to ensure that you are aware of the finals expectations that are coming next week, December 20th -22nd. The exams will function the same as last year. All students who have not earned an "A" in their course are required to come to school to take that final assessment provided by their teachers on those days. Please ensure that your student attends school to take their final otherwise they will be marked with an unexcused absence.

During the pandemic we were cognizant of students return to school and decided to go in this route, however after this 1st semester we will be exploring a more traditional finals exam process. Updates on what that will look like for the second semester will be provided in forthcoming parent letters.

With Zee-Bee Pride,

Zackary Livingston

What's happening in Athletics?

On 12/6, our boys basketball team took on the Mundelein Mustangs in a NSC battle. During a hard-fought sophomore game, there were many lead changes, and the game was decided in the last 10 seconds. In the video below you will see the Mustangs take the lead with about 7 seconds left. The Bees quickly got the ball and Benjamin Burton hit a ¾ court length shot at the buzzer to seal the win for the Bees. What an amazing finish!!
