Mission Statement
St. Joseph Catholic School fosters a diverse community of disciples empowered through a rigorous and inclusive Catholic education rooted in Gospel values and service to others.
grandparents day
If a grandparent is not able to join us at school the morning of April 29th, they can send a card/letter to the school with the name of the student on the envelope. We will be sure that the student receives this piece of mail during Grandparents Day activities. Please watch for additional information in next week's edition of Eagle's Eye.
grandparents day procedures
- Students will not need to bring backpacks to school the day of Grandparents Day! Backpacks should be left at home.
- If a grandparent is NOT accompanying your child(ren) that day, please drop your child off as normal.
- We strongly encourage grandparents to arrive at SJCS church parking lot WITH their grandchild(ren) between 8am and 8:10am. Please let grandparents know that they do not want to arrive before 8am as they will be among carline.
- When grandparents arrive at school with their grandchild(ren), they will go directly to the church and sit wherever they like.
- Following Mass, we will have volunteers take pictures of grandchildren with their grandparents.
- Grandparents will visit the child's classroom until about 10:45am.
We are hoping that having students arrive at church with their grandparents, this will help facilitate them finding eachother in the church for Mass. We are grateful for the cooperation of all to make this morning a success.

If you are able to drive, remember we need two things from you (1) you must be fingerprinted through the Diocese; (2) we must have your driver authorization form completed with the minimum insurance requirements. If you meet these requirements and can help drive, please notify your child's homeroom teacher.
*Please note that there is only one school performance, so if you have children in multiple grades, please only commit to drive for one class. As we get closer and evaluate our drivers, we may ask you to drive for your other child if necessary.

Raising kids in a digital age isn't easy
Be a good role model. Teach and model kindness and good manners online. Because children are great mimics, limit your own media use. In fact, you'll be more available for and connected with your children if you're interacting, hugging and playing with them rather than simply staring at a screen.

scholarship renewals for 2022-2023
Families currently receiving any of the scholarships through the School Choice Office and intend to receive that scholarship for next year, it's time to renew! Please log in to your account and take the necessary steps to renew. Thanks to those parents who have already submitted an Award Letter for next year to the school office.
scholarship opportunities for 2022-2023
The first step for all families interested in securing financial aid will be to apply through the School Choice Office. The SJCS Scholarship Committee will not review your FACTs Grant and Aid application until you have applied through the School Choice Office and provide us with documentation that you do not qualify.
The School Choice Office provides scholarships for families based on financial need. A family of four could have an income up to $111,000 to be eligible.
Again, they are not accepting applications for new families quite yet. They are currently renewing families who are currently receiving the scholarship. Interested new families can go to the website and request an email notification once applications are available. Visit stepupforstudents.org for more information.
