Welcome to our new Barry staff!
Yvette Greco
My name is Yvette Greco and I’m very excited to be teaching World Languages and Spanish for Platte County.
I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I taught for 12 years in California, and I have a teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles. I am also certified in Missouri to teach Spanish K-12, Grades 1-6 and Birth -3rd grade.
We moved to the Midwest ten years ago when my husband accepted a teaching position at Benedictine College. I became a stay at home mother to my three young children who are now 14, 12, and 8 years old.
I began substitute teaching for Platte County Schools two years ago, and working in Platte was such a great experience that I knew I wanted to resume my teaching career here.
I really look forward to teaching World Languages and Spanish at Barry and Platte County High School!
Sarah Shoup
Hello! My name is Sarah Shoup and I am thrilled to be joining the 5th grade team at Barry this year! I recently graduated from Park University (home of the Pirates!) with my Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a minor in English Studies.
I was born and raised in the Northland and have always dreamed of someday teaching in my hometown community. I am the oldest of 3 girls and we are all constantly in search of new adventures. I am a second-generation teacher, and my Mother was one of the main influences in my deciding to be a teacher.
In my free time I like to read, spend time outdoors, and cook different foods from around the world.
As a teacher I value student choice, collaboration, independence, and accountability in the classroom. I strive to create a close community of students who will become life-long learners and strong leaders.
I am so excited to begin this new adventure at Barry School and pursue my passion for teaching. Go Pirates!
Stephanie Richison
I have been married to my husband Dan for 12 years. I am originally from Boston (Go Sox and Pats! Sorry, only KC team I root for is Sporting) Dan and I have 3 kids-Tyler, Wesley, and Isabelle. In my spare time I enjoy baking, reading, watching my kids play soccer, running, and anything Harry Potter!
Kristy Unruh
I have been married to my husband, Greg for 11 years, and we have three children ages 22, 8 and 6. My oldest son Gabriel, a 2014 graduate of PCR-III, attended college and now lives and works on the East Coast. This school year my daughter Amelia starts third grade and my youngest son Barrett will be in the first grade at Pathfinder Elementary. Since moving into the district in 2006, I have been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer and get to know a diverse population of children and families with the activities and clubs with which I have been involved. Because of these positive experiences, my family and I made the long-term decision to remain in the district and become a more integral part.
