Welcome back!
A year of Music for Koontz Panthers
What have you learned about music using technology?
Music, music everywhere!! What have you heard? Have you learned any new ways to make music? What music have you created? Be ready to share, I'm ready to learn!
Here is a rhythm using a cup. Can you do it or make up your own?
The Cup Song Tutorial
Literacy in Music
Reading is as easy as learning a song then singing while looking at the words in print. We will sing a lot and dance a lot this year and see how language can help us sing and move and how singing and moving can help us read!
Chorus
If you love to sing, then Chorus is for you! This year we will have 2 groups: a Panther Chorus for third, fourth and fifth graders and an Honors Chorus for fifth graders only who pass an audition.
But, I want to play an instrument, especially the DRUMS!!!
Kindergartners will learn how to handle, play and share instruments. First and second graders will learn how to play autoharps, handbells and boomwhackers. Third and fourth graders will learn to play these and other instruments, including recorders in ensembles. Fifth graders will focus on playing recorders to prepare for the North Carolina Symphony Concert.
MARCH 24: PANTHERS HAVE TALENT
Get your group, song, dance or comedy act ready! Auditions will be held in February, but it is not too early to begin thinking and planning what you would like to present. We know there are a lot of talented kids at our school so ... bring it on!!
