Important Sundae Bar News!

In order to avoid long lines in the cafeteria on Sundae Bar days we would like to invite all students wishing to purchase the Sundae Bar a la carte to prepay in the morning, the cost is $1.65. Students can enter the cafeteria in the morning before school starts and prepay for the Sundae Bar using either cash or their code. They will then receive a stamp that can be shown to our Sundae Bar volunteers once they finish their lunch. Please note this is only for those students wishing to purchase the Sundae Bar a la carte. If your student forgets to prepay that morning please know they can still purchase the Sundae bar during their normal lunch time. Sundae Bar is this Friday, November 9th.

Home & School Meeting

Please join us at 7pm on Tuesday, November 13th, in the library for our next Home & School meeting. A few reasons to be part of Home & School:

  • Home & School helps connect you to other parents & teachers through meetings, events, & communications, helping to build a community!
  • By getting involved you will help make positive changes.
  • There is no better way to know what is happening at school.

Attention 5th Graders!

Would you like to have your very own artwork on the front cover of the yearbook this year? Now is your chance to show your creativity to the school. Fifth graders may submit a yearbook cover entry to their classroom teachers by November 16th for consideration in the contest. Teachers will blindly vote on the winner which will then be revealed at the end of the year. No late submissions will be accepted.

This year’s theme is, “Franconia Elementary, Ripples of Kindness.” To be considered, the entry must be submitted on a blank 8.5 x 10 inch sheet of paper and include the School name and theme somewhere on the paper. It must be original artwork.

Be creative fifth grade! Show your best work! The winning entry will be printed on this year’s yearbook. Contact Kelli Adams, with questions.

Clothing Drive for Charity

Want to clean out your closets and support our school? We will be collecting used clothing, shoes, purses, blankets, table cloths, sheets, blankets, towels, comforters, baby items etc. These items will be packaged and shipped to Ghana, Honduras, Haiti, Belize, Mexico, and other countries in need. Please consider bringing your donations (collected in plastic trash bags) to Holiday Family Night on December 7th. For every pound we donate, the school gets $0.33! Please click on the box below for additional information.

Own a local business and want to advertise?

As part of the H&S’s initiative to build community, we are putting together a special SMORE to help our Franconia Families promote their businesses. We would love to help spread the word! This SMORE will be published at the end of November to coincide with “Shop Small”, a nationwide event that supports small businesses in local communities.

If you are interested in getting your business information on this flyer or have questions, please email Maureen Yothers at
