Volunteering in the Classroom
Let me know if you would like to volunteer in the classroom
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities-
- 7:45-8:15: Help students with problem solving or other morning work.
- 9:25-10:25: Read with students and help with literacy assignments.
- 11:45-12:15: Lead a game or activity during recess with groups of second-graders.
- 1:30-2:00: Write dictated stories for students who have great ideas but have trouble getting those ideas down on paper. (This is a great need!)
- 2:00-2:15: Read Aloud
- Gardening: We need a few parents to coordinate with me and Joan, our master gardener, to plan and lead garden-related activities with our class. We have great access to the garden from our back door.
Current Volunteer Opportunities-
- Cut up number cards for math games and sort them into baggies. (This could be done at home.)
- Help students with tie-dyed t-shirts Monday @ 12:30. Heather will bring all the materials and show you what to do. We just need some extra hands.
Throughout the year, there will be lots of opportunities to go on field trips and help with specific projects. Thanks for all your help!
