Parenting Corner

Although the holidays are fun, for young children it can be overwhelming or overstimulating. Here are a few simple tips that may help.

  • Try to keep a routine for your child
  • Be flexible
  • Pack healthy fresh snacks wherever you go
  • If your child still naps, try to incorporate a time to rest
  • Take breaks from big crowds
  • Listen and watch your child for signs of frustration, exhaustion, hunger, etc.
  • Take some deep breaths together, practice calming techniques
  • It's okay to say "no" to too many events/activities

Here are some other links for ideas. Feel free to share what has worked for you and your family.
