Please see below for the First Day Schedule. Students, please keep in mind that you will be participating in service projects and other physical activities in the morning. You may get dirty so please dress accordingly!

Students and their parents/guardians can stop in anytime between 6-8 pm and obtain their locker assignment, schedule from the Counseling Office or general information from the Main Office. This school year brings many new changes, including a new daily bell schedule to accompany the move the trimester schedule. The daily bell schedule, 2019-20 school year calendar and grading periods are posted below.
In addition, we have adopted the AVID program for our school. AVID focuses on incorporating best teaching practices in the classroom which incorporate communication, collaboration, critical thinking and movement. We will be continuing to follow up on the above practices throughout our newsletters.
We'd like to remind everyone that we are focused on learning and that cell phones can be a distraction in class.
Why do we have cell phone procedures?
Cell Phone Policy
What will happen if I'm on my cell phone in class?
2. Place cell phone in cell phone bin and obtain at the end of class
3. A principal collects the cell phone and the student receives the phone at the end of the day.
4. On the second time a phone is turned in at the office, a parent/guardian will come to school to obtain the phone.
As always, we are dedicated to the success of each and every child at ETHS. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kent Kleinowski and Mrs. Stacey Kuehn

Band and Choir
Students will have the opportunity to enroll in both band and choir during the same academic class period, if they choose. Students could also take band and choir during separate class periods, if they'd prefer. As with all course offerings and programming, ETHS values the music department and has devoted much time and effort towards ensuring high quality programming and opportunities in music exist in the trimester.
Length of an Academic Term
In a trimester schedule, the school year is divided into three terms or trimesters. Each trimester is about 60 days of instruction. The students will receive final grades in their classes three times each year: end-Nov, mid-March, and in June.
Number of Classes Per Day
East Troy High School’s trimester schedule will allow students to focus on up to five classes per day (and still have a Resource period). This means the day will be divided into five classes, with each class meeting for approximately 71 minutes.
Opportunity to Enroll in Courses
In the East Troy High School trimester schedule, students will have three terms, each of those can include up to five classes per day. Therefore, a student can enroll in up to 15 classes in a given school year.

Self-Care is Important
Self-care is IMPORTANT & unique to everyone! Having a strategy or plan can help you deal with everyday stressors and other big issues in your life.
Tips:
Nurture your support system: Most of us would agree that it is important to have people in our lives who care about us and are there through the good times and the bad. These are the people who make up our social support system-friends, family & peers- that we can turn to when we need help. Think about how you can maintain your current relationships, build new ones, and perhaps even prune out damaging relationships.
Honor your emotional needs: Self-care activities are simple!
Be good to yourself
Do things that make you happy
Know when you need to take time out or be near other people
Get in the habit of staying in tune with your emotions
Manage Stress: Know your key stressors and how to best cope or neutralize them
Love yourself: Work on cultivating a positive self-image and high self-esteem.
Come up with a self-care plan: Research “self-care plans/ideas”
