The Final Week...
Team Blue,
Each year I would look forward to the final week of school as we celebrated traditions, wrapped up learning, finished finals, and high-fived or hugged people goodbye while wishing them a blessed and safe summer. Peering into next week however, it feels incredibly anti-climactic. I'm out of sorts, and I know many of you are, too. The scripture that keeps coming to mind is from Hebrews 12:2,3:
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
I've never appreciated the metaphor for life being a race. A marathon. I'm getting tired of the fear, pain, and uncertainly - it wears on me. My encouragement for this next and last week of school for the 2020 school year is to fix our eyes on Jesus and learn from him. He ran the race for you and me and considered it JOY to suffer in our place. So, don't lose heart and tire - keep going! As we emerge from this time in our lives, may the pandemic strengthen our faith in Jesus and prepare us to help each other with kindness and love so much so that people actually see Jesus in us. Hang in there, everyone.
I know there are many questions about ending the year, so please look for information next week about the procedure for clearing lockers, returning books and uniforms, and the like. To date, unless there is an administrative reason for students to be on campus, it remains closed at this time. Also, we are determining procedures and processes for summer speech classes as well. More information to follow.
God bless your weekend and please be safe!
Eagle Strong,
Dr. Lowe

From Mr. Lorenzen: Advanced Placement Information
AP students,
Please use the link below to view the video from Tuesday's informational Zoom meeting. In it we covered everything there is to know about the exam process. Attached here is the guide used in the video and the check list published by the College Board. A few important points of clarification that have come up recently are pasted below. Please reach out to me or your classroom teacher if you have more questions. Know that each of you are in my prayers as the AP exams near. The more you prepare for the process the smoother it will go on exam day. Remember, submitting something is better than running out of time and not submitting anything. You will do great.
As a reminder, you are not expected to attend your regular classes the day you have an AP exam. For example, on Monday students will take the AP Government exam at 3:00pm. Those AP students will be excused from their regularly scheduled classes. The expectation is you use your time to organize, prepare, and ask your AP teacher any final questions that you may have for your upcoming exam.
Prepare well and good luck.
