It's FINALLY HERE! Spring Break! WOOT WOOT!!!
So, we made it. You all have worked so hard and deserve this upcoming break more than anyone I know! It is my hope that you have a fabulous week off and enjoy every moment.
For grades 3-5, the tendency will be to jump in with both feet into getting ready for SOLs. I appreciate your keen sense of purpose and dedication to wanting the children to pass, but I am sure the last thing the kids want to do is practice to take tests, prepare for tests, and take tests through the end of the year. Keep in mind that no matter what, the children need quality learning experiences and to have FUN! Keep that good ole John B. Dey joy and whimsy going. Plan Fab Friday activities, consider some innovative STEAM events, rotations with other classes, hands on fun...not just test prep. This will help students stay engaged and motivated through June 16th!
For grades K-2, you may have technology taken out of the hands of your babies as they devices need to be prepared for testing, but consider those fun games, hands-on STEAM events, literacy activities and math games that kids love. Outdoor activities with a chance to be physical and explorations will keep those little minds happy and actively learning.
After break, we only have 8 more MONDAYS! Let's make each week full of fun and excitement as we wind down our year. Take lots of pictures and keep things moving. :)
Relax, rejuvenate, and recharge! Happy Spring! :)
Beth
