A Message from Mrs. Fortunato
June 6, 2020
Dear Parents,
Our Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten programs celebrated their end of year growth and achievements this week! God bless our little ones as they begin their summer and experience the joys of summer fun! We will miss you and cannot wait to be together in the fall.
One of the great events for the week was our first Virtual Talent Show. Our Student Council representatives have done a wonderful job judging the acts submitted and I know it was a tough job! I applaud all our students who took their time and shared such incredibly talented videos! If you did not have a chance to watch it, please see below.
Next week we will celebrate the close of this school year with many mixed emotions. Please know we are a phone call or email away. If you need to get us and you are not sure how to do that, please email a teacher or me (principal@icsclinton.org). The school's office phone is active as well and messages are retrieved several times daily. I will continue to send regular updates over the summer. The best gift any teacher or administrator can receive is a note from you or a recommendation singing our school's praises. Please pass along our school's love and welcoming school community to others. We love all of you and look forward to seeing you
(in person) soon.

In closing...it is with great appreciation and love that I extend my heartfelt thanks for all your support, flexibility, and partnership throughout this year....wow- I am emotional writing these words! Our school year has been filled with excitement, accomplishments, great learning, and incredible friendships. And yes, we never expected life to change so radically, but we rose to the occasion with such Grace and compassion and proved we are a people of God filled with hope and the Holy Spirit. As I reflect back over this past year, ICS makes me so proud! We made modifications, continued to live our school's mission, and followed in Jesus' foot steps one step at a time. I encourage you to continue to model faith in yourself, one another, and our parish-school community. The world needs to see and experience our love.

Words from Mrs. Mary Jane DeSaro~
I am excited to share my happy news with you. I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I have been a part of the ICS community from day one. In 2001 I began teaching third grade in what is now the Early Education Building. We would watch across the parking lot as our big beautiful building was being built. In the nineteen years at ICS I have taught third grade, second grade and in the past four years I was the Academic Support Teacher and Dean of Student Support Services. All of my positions have been rewarding and enjoyable. I loved teaching the children and watching them grow academically and spiritually.
It has been a blessing being a part of the ICS community. I have many wonderful memories. I will not be saying good bye. Immaculate Conception Church is my parish and I hope to volunteer at ICS.
My next journey is to spend more time with my grandchildren in Pittsburgh, to spoil them and just be “Grandmom!” I hope to travel around the US to visit family and friends. My big dream is to travel around Europe.
Words from Mrs. Carolyn Pepperman~
Originally, my plan was to take a few art glass courses in Michigan over the summer, followed by courses locally, in the fall. I have decided to temporarily cancel these plans, due to COVID, but look forward to some car travel to some of my favorite places, this summer.
I will always be thankful for my time at ICS, and for the colleagues and families with whom I have shared it! The “City on the Hill” is tremendously blessed with strong and compassionate clergy, a passionate, visionary principal, dedicated teachers and staff, and caring, faith-filled families! I am grateful to have shared so much of my life with you and simply wish you the very best! God bless you all!
