Golden Ringers Welcome Principal Maul! by Gloria Williams
This year brings us a new principal by the name of Mrs. Maul. Before working at Golden Ring Middle, she was formally the principal of Franklin Middle School. After interviewing Mrs. Maul, I learned a lot. I asked her what were her plans for this school. Mrs. Maul said she had good plans based on student discipline, students skipping class, cafeteria behavior, etc. Mrs. Maul is genuinely concerned about kids. She would love to see students at our school grow up to be successful, respectful and responsible adults and in order for that to happen, she will make sure we get all of the education we need. After interviewing her, I decided to ask a few of my peers what they thought about the responses I got from Mrs. Maul and here what they said:
Student 1 - "Ms. Maul is tough but in a good way and I like that because it makes me want to learn better." Student 2 - "She's okay I guess ... I mean I never really knew her until now but so far she is doing okay especially when being new and all. It is tough for her but she does okay!"
Golden Ring Panthers Prepare to Take It to the Hoop!
GRMS Panthers are ready to ROARRR on the court!
Alicia Ferraro, an eighth grade Lady Panther for GRMS' basketball team, stated that the team's strengths are that they work good together (team work), and that they practice hard to be ready for games.
Mr. Ramsey shared that the things that the girls are good at are ball handling and shoot selection. For both the boys and girls teams, the way that they practice should be the way that they play. Mr. Ramsey thinks that they will win most games.
Advice that Mr. Ramsey would like to give to our basketball players is to stay out of trouble in school because they could get kicked off the team.

Student Council: Q & A with Mrs. Wright by Jean Guruu
Q: Why did you join or want to hold a Student Council at GRMS?
A: I actually was in a former Assistant Principal's office and I was told that I was going to be the student council leader.
Q: Where you nervous when you started the club?
A: At first I was nervous, but no, not really. I joined a student council group when I was in middle school/ high school and I had a great advisor. He was inspirational.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your students?
A: I love that that they work hard and like working, I think of them as ambassadors for the school.
Q: What fun things do you like doing with members of the Student Council?
A: We organize and host the Valentines Dance, Spirit Week, and we attend a quarterly general assembly.
