Dear GOAL Families,
Ho, Ho, Ho!
What a fun, exciting week we have had! On Monday, the Arlington High School show choir performed for us, and it was awesome! On Thursday we performed, along with GOS, in our annual Christmas pageant. We think it was the best one yet! Today was another fun day! We went to see Frosty the Snowman at Casa Manana and it was a wonderful show! After lunch we started our Christmas shopping at Dollar Tree. If you sent $5 this week, your participant either shopped today or will do his/her shopping on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Christmas pictures and prepositions made a game of Bingo into a communication lesson in Ms. Cooley's class. Cooking and Nutrition students finished studying the basic food groups in the food pyramid. The smallest category, "sometimes foods" are not healthy for us, but we really enjoy them occasionally. We also made gingerbread together on Wednesday.
Zoology class finished its study of nocturnal animals, and we will begin a new study in January about hibernation and how animals survive in the winter.
The Production Room participants have been busy elves this week hanging stockings, delivering mail and gifts, and getting ready for Christmas break!
During the week of December 14 we will not have off-campus afternoon jobs. We will do jobs here at Green Oaks School. On Thursday the 17th, we will have a movie day. We have the option of wearing Christmas pajamas to school that day. That afternoon we will have our GOAL Christmas party. All participants are welcome to come. If they do not normally attend on Thursday afternoon, please drop them off at 3:30 pm and pick them up at 5:00 pm. We will be doing a $5 gift card exchange at the party.
Have a great weekend!
