Hermann Elementary Bearcat Bulletin
Learn. Lead. Grow. Succeed. Together!
October 25, 2018
How is it that November is right around the corner? I can't believe how quickly the month of October passed us by! I hope your children enjoyed the long weekend after parent-teacher conferences. I have a feeling that Thanksgiving will be here quicker than we anticipate! Thank you for a fantastic first quarter!
THANK YOU FAMILIES
We'd like to thank our special guests who attended "Lunch with Loved Ones" for Kindergarten, 1st and 4th graders. Lunch was a huge hit with our students. We hope you enjoyed your time in our building! Our next event is "Start Your Day with Dad" for our Kindergarten students and special guests. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, October 31.
PTO trash bag sales went very well! These sales generated around $3000 profit for our students. Thank you to our PTO for all of your hard work associated with these sales. Please pick up your trash bag orders if you haven't already done so!
Thank you, students, for your high levels of participation in Red Ribbon Week! It was a huge success! We appreciate your support and willingness to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Hopefully all of our families have had a chance to see the great pictures in the Hermann Advertiser Courier!
PTO News
PTO is excited to offer the PTO Keepsake (Magnet) Art Fundraiser again this year. The students and Ms. Ditch have worked hard in art class to provide you some original artwork for this annual fundraiser with proceeds that go to benefit our students' field trips and end of the year "Fun Day." Please continue to check your folder for the order forms, and return forms by the date listed. This will help ensure delivery by the holidays.
PTO also plans to offer a Bearcat Spirit Wear fundraiser to our families. Those order forms will also come home soon!
Other Important Info.
Start You Day with Dad for Kindergarten students and special guests will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 7:30 to 8:00 in the Kindergarten classrooms. We look forward to seeing you!
On Monday, November 19 students can dress like their future dream job for $1. All proceeds will be donated to a family with a child fighting cancer in our community.
School will not be in session on Wednesday, November 21 through Friday, November 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes resume on Monday, November 27. Happy Thanksgiving!
Any unclaimed lost and found items will be donated by November 16. We have quite a collection of sweatshirts and heavy jackets on our stage. Please encourage your child to look there if he/she has something missing!
Please continue to send lunch money on Mondays. Volunteers are in the builidng on Mondays to help count and collect this money. Sending money on Mondays may prevent a school messenger call later in the week!
If your child is absent from school, please call our school office by 9:30. This, too, may prevent a school messenger call! :)
We have received many calls to change student transportation very late in our school day. Our student handbook states that all calls to change transportation must be made before 12:00. It is very difficult to get change notices to teachers after 12:00 PM. We would appreciate your full cooperation on this matter.
Please note that our third and fourth grades will perform in our Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 4. More information will come in our next Bearcat Bulletin.
