Suspicious car/person

You may have seen or heard that Rankin was mentioned in the news this past week. There have been several reports regarding a suspicious car/person in connection with a bluish grey Malibu with an older man in it. This car was parked in our back parking lot this past Thursday at the start of the school day. The driver did not have any contact with anyone and left when observed by a staff member. I did contact Mundy Township Police and the administration building in light of the recent concerns within the community. The local police departments (Grand Blanc, Mundy and Swartz Creek) are well aware of the car/person and indicated he has no criminal history but has a history of mental issues. They have reported that this situation appears to be under control and due to confidentiality can not share much. This is just a reminder to us to be observant to those around us and to report things that seem suspicious.

Records Day

Friday afternoon is reserved for teachers as a records day. I anticipate Julie or Kristy will send a timeline similar to what we have done in the past. Please be sure you read the timeline so that you are aware of the required time frames you will need to adhere to.

STAR testing/Assessments

We completed STAR testing last week but the testing window remains open this week. If you have students that did not test this past week, please take care of these students during your computer time in the lab or in your classroom. Please watch your Math Quarterly deadlines.

Community Education After School Activities

With the elimination of Youth Quest we have very few opportunities for our students to participate in after school activities. I approached Community Education about providing some opportunities here at Rankin. Community Education is meeting with our tutors and myself at 11:30 on Tuesday to explore providing some after school enrichment classes. There will be no Lunch Ketch up on Tuesday. See me if you have an interest in providing an opportunity.
