BHS Food Service Employee given National Award for her quick action
Susan Newton, cafeteria worker at Blythewood High School, was named the National Sodexo Experience Winner for her brave and heroic efforts protecting the students of Blythewood High School. She confronted an intruder back in the fall who was evading police and helped detain him without any incident at school. Her quick action and bravery was amazing! Mrs. Newton's story was featured on WLTX,

2 BHS Teachers earn National Board certification
Junior Lunch Privilege for 2nd semester
- All grades 77% or higher for semester 1
- No suspensions for semester 1
- No attendance issues for semester 1
- All school fees have been paid in full
Juniors interested in this privilege must pick up the application in the main office and have it signed by their parents. A special ID will be awarded to the approved students. Juniors may NOT leave campus during lunch until this process has been completed and their new ID has been received.
BHS to host its first-ever DANCE marathon
On Friday, February 21st, we will have our first Dance Marathon at BHS! USC has one of the largest Dance Marathons in the country and they have asked us to work with them to raise money for Palmetto Health Children's Hospital by having a Dance Marathon of our own at Blythewood.

Child Development Applications
Richland Two’s Title I Child Development Program will be accepting applications
Monday, January 13, through Friday, April 11, 2014
• This is a needs-based program designed to ensure that the most
at-risk children enter kindergarten with the skills necessary to
succeed academically.
• The full-day program is free to qualifying families
• Children applying for the program must be four years old by
September 1, 2014.
• Applications will be taken at the Clemson Road Child Development
Center (CRCDC) at 2621A Clemson Road, Monday - Friday, from
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
