Physics AB: Week 2 Update

6 week Summer 2019

Big picture

This Week's Focus: 2D Motion and Newton's Laws

We will begin (and finish) our study of 2D Motion and begin our study of Newton's Laws of Motion this week. Specifically, we will be focusing on projectiles (one of the most difficult concepts we will study this semester), uniform circular motion, centripetal acceleration, Newton's First Law, Newton's Second Law, free body diagrams, and Newton's 3rd Law. More information about the content, the location of each handout, and helpful hints for each assignment can be found in Module 3: 2D Motion and Module 4: Newton's Laws of Motion Course Resources.

If you haven't been getting the grades you hoped for on your assignments, think about what you can do differently:

  • Are you logging on to the live Jigsaw sessions or watching the recordings?
  • Are you spending the suggested 6-10 hours per day on Physics?
  • Are you contacting me and asking for help if you do not understand something?

If you aren't doing ALL of these things, try doing them and see if your grade improves. It's worth a shot! And do not wait until the last minute to complete (or start) your assignments, as they take some time to do, especially the labs.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me:
