Safety Reminders
1. Walkers at the end of the day should not be crossing traffic (car line or parking lot). If your child is crossing traffic, then he/she should be exiting a different door.
2. Please be observant when driving in the parking lot at any time during the school day. We may have classes outside working on activities.
3. We do not allow any motorized vehicles (other than cars) on school property during arrival and dismissal. This includes golf carts, 3 wheelers, etc.
Dress Code Reminders
The weather is warming up! Some children might have had a growth spurt since last wearing shorts in the fall. Just a reminder that the district dress code reads that shorts must be of a modest length, mid-thigh or longer. At Sampson, we use the finger- tip rule. Another trend is cropped shirts – district dress code states that that blouses/shirts must cover the midsection.
Thank you for helping with student dress.

BizTown
5th Grade Parents- The BizTown Field Trip is Friday, May 6 and we need help!
What is BizTown?
BizTown is a simulated town that our students get to run for the day. Prior to the field trip, they apply for and are assigned jobs. Once at BizTown, they fill these jobs and simulate real life.
*Chaperone the Field Trip on Friday, May 6. The field trip is at the Junior Achievement facility on Dacoma St. You must be trained to attend. Training is on Thursday, April 21 @ 9:30am. Sign up for a training date to let us know you’re going to chaperone on May 6. We need, at minimum, 32 volunteers. Sign up here https://sampsonpto.membershiptoolkit.com/volunteer/86910

From the library

April is National School Library Month!
April is National School Library Month! We will celebrate all month at school. One way we are celebrating is with a bookmark contest. Please see the attached contest. I also have copies in the library.

5th grade book club! We will meet to discuss Twins on Thursday, April 14.
The Book Character Parade
The Book Character Parade is ready for an audience again! K, 1, and 2 students have the great opportunity to dress up as book characters on Friday, April 22 for our annual parade! I remind the students to pick a book first, then dress up based on what they learned about the character, bring the book to school, and we parade!
Families are welcome to watch the parade this year! Families may line up around the outside of the track and wait for us to parade around the track. We will begin after announcements, but we will likely be around the track around 8:15 a.m. We can't wait!

PTO News
Meet our Sponsors and go help support their businesses!
Ally Haygood with The Brook Home and Gift
Thank you to our Sampson VIP Sponsors for your generosity to our school throughout this year!

1. How did you come to be in the business?
I have been working retail since high school and I love it more every single day! I have a degree from the University of Houston in Consumer Science and Merchandising. I worked for Academy’s corporate office after college but spent most of my retail career with my mom watching her build a successful business. When the opportunity of opening The Brook Home & Gift presented itself, I wasted no time 😊
2. What is a great memory you can share about providing the service you do?
We make memories every single day at The Brook… and what makes it great is that those memories are with our customers. We strive to establish a relationship with all our customers and a lot of them have become our very dear friends. It is very memorable to us being able to be a small part of the occasion our customers are buying for. Joining in on their celebration of a birthday, a new baby, a promotion…helping them transform or decorate their house… being able to be there and pray as they grieve the loss of a loved really means a lot to us.
3. What calls you to help in your local community, both monetary and volunteering your time?
A strong community is the foundation to success. We all need each other and it’s amazing how much can get done when it’s done together. The saying “it takes a village” is very true. We feel strongly that when you have been blessed it is important to be a blessing. This community is the most important thing to us!
4. If you could tell the community one thing about your company, what would you say?
We serve before we sell, and we truly care about each person that walks through our door. We try our very best to offer something for everyone at all different price points.
Staff Appreciation Lunch
Hey Parents! Please help us in making our Chick-Fil-A luncheon a success by providing fruit, chips and dessert! We are also looking for volunteers to donate their time, you can find the available opportunities for that in the sign-up as well!
