Lil Mama
DeShay "Lil Mama" Day, is the 3 year old daughter of Shannon (Morgan) Day and Desman Day of IndianapolisShe is the niece of Scott Morgan of Tell City. She is the granddaughter of the Diana (Nelson) Hull, from Tell City currently residing in Indianapolis and the late Kenneth R Morgan of Tell City. She is the great-granddaughter of Juanita Nelson of Tell City and the late Ewell Nelson of Tell City and also the great-granddaughter of Mary Edith Morgan of Tell City and the late Owen Sherman "Shorty" Morgan of Tell City.DeShay turned 3 years old on November 12, 2013. The next day she complained of belly pain. We did all the suggestions the peds MD ordered, nothing was working. On Friday of that week, she ended up in the ER at Riley Hospital for Children. A CT scan of her belly showed a "large mass". The next day she was taken to the OR where the surgeon removed a 4 1/2 pound, 17 cm tumor from her tiny belly.The tumor was sent to pathology. On November 20, 2013, the pathology report came back the lil mama had Stage 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. She started Chemo the very next Tuesday. She will have 46 weeks in total of Chemotherapy. She started Proton Beam Radiation Therapy in Bloomington Indiana in April and will endure 5 days a week for four weeks of radiation.
