As you remove one light bulb in a series circuit the other two bulbs no longer produce any type of light. If you take on bulb out of a parallel the other two bulbs still produce some type of light.
Summary
The best type of circuit to use for a Christmas light is the parallel circuit the reason for this is because of brightness appears more and if one light bulb burst the other light will still produce light.
