A Message From Dr. Hinson
Hello Stuber Families,
Once again we found ourselves in an unusual circumstance that challenged our skills, emotions, and at times survival. My family had great moments but also some challenges that stretched us for sure. My heart was warmed though as neighbors checked on each other, offered assistance, and gathered outside to have some fun. In a world with much division, it was nice to see so many come together. Our hope is that our Stuber family is safe, warm, dry, and ready for a new week with much better weather. Please be aware that our students will exchange Valentine's Monday afternoon.
We are over halfway through the 3rd nine weeks. Be sure to check Skyward if your student is in grades 2-5 to see your child's progress.
Many virtual parents have begun to reach out discussing a return to campus for the 4th nine weeks. If you are currently a virtual family but are interested in a return after Spring Break, please reach out to me by email, so we can begin to plan.
We look forward to a great week ahead!

Arrival & Dismissal Concerns
- Please do not park along the roadway leading to the crosswalks. We are having several families pick up at the three crosswalks and posing a safety concern to our students who actually walk home.
- Please make sure you are moving slowly into our carlines as numerous students walk to school and at times can trip and fall.
- Please do not use your cell phone while driving on campus. It's the law.
- Please use the back car line if the front line is backed up during morning arrival. If you are having to wait to turn into the loop because of traffic, then you should continue on to the back car line.
- We having increasing numbers of students arriving late. School starts at 7:45.
- ALL early dismissals must be completed by 2:15.

African American History Month
"As a state and nation shaped by the diversity of our citizens, it is vital we recognize and celebrate the different races, nationalities, and backgrounds of the land we love. Having faced slavery, many forms of oppression, deep-rooted adversity, and the life-threatening dangers of demanding equality and change, African Americans are imbued with a unique strength and resilience, and their contributions and achievements are respected and greatly valued in the Lone Star State. Each year, February is designated African American History Month to remember and reflect on the tribulations faced by the African American community while learning from the vibrant history and culture and celebrating its many invaluable contributions." -Texas Education Agency
Although we focus on African American history this month, the history is all of our history and is discussed throughout the year as significant events, discoveries, movements, and more are encountered within the curriculum. Stuber will specifically celebrate by:
Discussing different African American individuals and their accomplishments on announcements
Throughout the year the librarian has pulled diverse books and has on display for students. An additional display has been added to the entrance for this month.
African American History Month has been highlighted in teacher and campus newsletters with resources for families to access during the month
5th grade is researching an African American who was highly influential to society. Their work will be shared with the school.
Grades K-4 are exploring various individuals during Social Studies as well as ELAR. Some completed an “ I have a dream” graphic that is displayed outside of their classrooms. While other wrote essays.
We encourage families to join us this month by exploring the following websites:
