Principal's Message
Greetings Hazelbrook Families,
It has been a week full of excitement and disappointment. As you know, our 6th graders were scheduled to attend outdoor school, unfortunately, one of the three camps had to shut down due to illnesses. We are working with the director to find out what options we have to reschedule. As soon as we know if this is a possibility, we will let families know.
We are beginning the process of forecasting for classes next year with current 6th and 7th grade students on Tuesday, March 21st. They will receive information in their Community Meeting class. Here are the steps we’ll be asking students to follow:
Complete the “Elective Interest Survey” provided through a link sent to each student’s email as well as through a QR code given during their Community Meeting class presentation. This Google Survey asks your student’s preferences around possible elective choices for next year and is due by Friday, March 24th.
We ask that you take time to discuss this survey with your student so that you can plan together. Our 6th and 7th grade counselors, Ms. Haaland and Ms. Wilson, will be available to help. Here is their contact information:
Mrs. Wilson (Class of 2028): dwilson@ttsd.k12.or.us 503-431-5124
Mrs. Haaland (Class of 2029): ahaaland@ttsd.k12.or.us 503-431-5123
This survey is only gathering information about elective classes. Placement in core classes, including math, will be assigned automatically for every student. More information about math placement will be shared from TTSD’s Teaching Learning Department soon.
We need EVERYONE at Hazelbrook to complete this survey and will do our best to get your student a schedule that they will enjoy.
If you would like to take a look at the possible Elective opportunities ahead of time, you can check out this link.
Mensaje Del Director
Sra. Wilson (Clase de 2028): dwilson@ttsd.k12.or.us 503-431-5124
Sra. Haaland (Clase de 2029): ahaaland@ttsd.k12.or.us 503-431-5123

Community Meeting
- State testing is coming in April, so students will be learning about and practicing to prepare for Oregon state assessments.
- March is Women's History Month, so there will be a lesson honoring women throughout history.
- It is that time of year when we start thinking about next year and planning for student schedules. This week 6th and 7th-grade students will be learning about classes for next year and forecasting for those classes. Ask your student about what they learned and the classes they might take.
First 10
First 10 Follow Up
Now that students have been informed and practiced the First 10 expectation, we are going to be checking how this process is working and seeing if our students are getting to class on time. Throughout next week in order to support students, we will be randomly selected periods to monitor our halls. If students are found to be in the hallways due to being locked out and without a valid pass, we will be collecting their names, re-teaching our expectations, notifying families, and working with students to determine how to support them in getting to class on time.
If you have any questions, please contact our office or administration.
