First Nine-Weeks Report Cards and New Nine-Weeks
The first day of the 2nd 9 weeks is Monday, October 19th. We have adjusted our synch time to begin at the beginning of each class period. It is imperative that students continue to log into synch time (when not on campus) to engage in instruction.

Synchronous Time Change: Synchronous time will start class each class period. Please make sure you child is logging in everyday to synchronous time. If you would like a copy of the synchronous schedule, you can access it at www.nisd.net/marshall. The schedule is also located in the top of the newsletter.
Some students are checking their grades using the GradePro app. This app is not accurate. Please encourage students to check HAC for accurate information regarding grades.
District Tutoring Options
The NISD College Night will be hosted virtually this year on November 2, 2020. This format will provide students access to over 350 colleges and universities. Students will view informational videos as well as chat with admission representatives. In order to participate in these sessions, students must pre-register. Please refer to the Counseling Schoology Page for more details.
Once students have registered for this event, they will be able to attend ANY of the Texas events that are hosted by TACRAO (Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers).

Mrs. Millican graduated with a BM in Music Performance from Southwest Texas State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned an MM in Performance with an emphasis in Musical Theater and Opera from Arizona State University.
Mrs. Millican is currently in her 25th year of teaching. She has been a private voice instructor, taught elementary and high school level music/choir, and was the Director of Choral Activities at Temple College for 8 years. She has sung professionally in the US as well as Germany and England. Some of her favorite roles have been the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Madame Lidoine in Dialogue of the Carmelites, Marion in The Music Man, and the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. She has sung both the soprano and mezzo soprano roles in various oratorios to include the Rutter Gloria, Vivaldi Gloria, Handel Messiah, Bach Magnificat and the Schubert Mass in G. She has also sung with the Houston Symphony, Temple Symphony and the Altenburg Symphony in Altenburg, Germany.
Mrs. Millican has been the soprano section leader at St. Luke's Episcopal Church for the past 13 years, and has traveled and sung extensively throughout England with this group.
She is currently in her 14th year as Choir Director at Marshall.
Mrs. Millican currently teaches vocal jazz, mixed choir, treble choir, advanced treble choir, and tenor bass choir. She is currently the musical director for the musical and leads students in several extracurricular competitions such as the Texas All-State Competition, UIL concert and Sight Reading Contest and UIL Solo and Ensemble.
Mrs. Millican loves being with her family and relaxing. She also enjoys reading and sometimes binge watching a good series on Netflix. Mrs. Millican really loves performing on the stage and wishes she had the time (and energy) to do more of it.
