Specialties Update:

This week, all Vista Academy students had the opportunity to participate in a virtual field trip from Poway OnStage. As part of their celebration of Black History Month, Poway OnStage presented an engaging concert by Jazzy Ash. The vibrant performance exposed students to a wide variety of music, including: zydeco, jazz, blues and swing. In addition, students were provided with standards-aligned extension activities. We are so grateful for this wonderful learning opportunity for our students. Thank you Jazzy Ash and Poway OnStage!

Vista Academy students have art specialty classes in dance, drama and music every week. Research has shown that participation in the arts has many benefits to students now, as well as later on in life. Each week we will feature a Why Art card from ART=OPPORTUNITY. More information and links to the studies on the benefits of the arts can be found on the website.
