Principal's Message

Springtime at Hathaway is going very well and we could not have done it without your support! We have been recognizing and celebrating all of the hard work and dedication from our Hathaway staff. As you know, team Hathaway is dedicated to providing the best education, support and safest environment for our students. I am proud and honored to work alongside them everyday!

Please take a few moments to read our entire newsletter. There are important updates for everyone as we get closer to ending our school year.

If you or your students have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the Hathaway Team.

Please continue to support our students by:

  • Encouraging you child to read every night. 20 to 30 minutes reading everyday will help make a big difference in their learning lives.
  • Encourage your child to count, add, subtract multiply and divide. Encourage them to solve math problems and see how math is a part of our daily lives at work and at home.

Stay safe and be well all!

Mr. Beneke - Principal

Big picture

Asian American - Pacific Islander Heritage Month

In 1978, a joint congressional resolution established Asian/Pacific American Heritage Week. The first 10 days of May were chosen to coincide with two important milestones in Asian/Pacific American history: the arrival in the United States of the first Japanese immigrants (May 7, 1843) and the contributions of Chinese workers to the building of the transcontinental railroad, completed May 10, 1869.

In 1992, Congress expanded the observance to a month-long celebration that is now known as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month:

  • Support our local Asian American or Pacific Islander community
  • Explore our Asian American or Pacific Islander history
  • Read a Book with Connections to Asian American or Pacific Islander culture
  • Watch a Movie Produced by an Asian American or Pacific Islander creator
  • Make some Asian American or Pacific Islander food
  • Visit or get takeout food from your favorite Asian American or Pacific Island restaurant
  • Try Origami
  • Make Bubble Tea at Home

Stay safe at School

A few reminders for everyone to help ensure that we continue to keep all of our incredible students and staff safe.

Please keep your student(s) home if they are not feeling well. (Temperature of 99.5 of above please stay home)

Please talk with your student about the importance of following our school's safety protocols including:

  • Wearing a mask-to cover both nose and mouth while at school.
  • Keeping distance from peers.
  • Washing hands well often or using hand sanitizer
