- Dr. Hefner was recognized as Magnet Schools of American National Superintendent of the Year this past Saturday. Through his leadership Dr. Hefner helped to successful implement more than 30 magnet programs between his previous district and D5.
- Dr. Michael Lofton, Spring Hill High Principal, was recognized as Magnet Schools of America National Principal of the Year as well. Dr. Lofton and I were in grade school together is is somer whose work I greatly admire. Plus he is genuinely a great human being.
- Ms. Peneva and her 5th grade strings students and Ms. Myers and her 5th grade chorus students for their performances during last Thursday's Spring Concert.
- The 23 students recognized during Friday's UnBeLEAFable student celebration. Many thanks to B. Gantt, S. Beckman, S. Cope, and our cafeteria staff. If I have omitted anyone please let me know and we will update this.
- PTO board, parent volunteers, teacher volunteers, custodial staff, and Mr. Gantt for another successful Bingo Night. Great attendance as usual and good time had by our families (my girls were a little disappointed that they didn't win a basket...but good time nonetheless).
