Campus Site Based Teams
After our meeting with Mr. Webb regarding campus planning, I revamped last years flyer/notes to assist the best I can to help relieve stress or creating of documents.
I know this is time consuming, so I will do what I can to help you.
Sample Agenda
This is an agenda that I created to help with ideas for this EOY meeting. You don't have to follow it, but I tried to note what is required so you know what to remove and what is negotiable.
May or June of each year --- End of Year Evaluations
It is time to amend and evaluate your 21st Century Learning Plans for this school year. It's important to make sure you follow the guidelines set down in local and legal policy for HISD. (Mr. Webb is revamping them for the April board meeting.) The link below will take you to the current policy regarding Campus Committees. This needs to be done as soon as possible. If you do not have an elected team, please get that done and have your end of year meeting. It's okay if you have not had a meeting up to this point. Remember, committees are advisory only except in the area of staff development.
Everyone is on a different schedule. What do I do?
If your community/parent members are unable to come to the meeting, go to them. SKYPE, Google Hangout or just have a working lunch with them. You want them to know that their opinion matters and it's important we are all on the same page. Email them the documents and have them email you something in return. That will count as contact and signature. Sometimes casual conversations can bring on the best results.
21st Century Learning Plan
Now for the learning plan that houses your strategies. If you have added a need in your needs assessment (CNA), you have to have a strategy to solve or work towards helping the need. You may already have one that will suffice, if not, simply add one. Your CNA is a checklist in a way. If you have a need, you have strategies that relate to the need. If you don't, it may not be a need that is a focus. We have tons of needs sometimes but we prioritize.
Again, the 21st Century plan is a living document during the school year. It needs to be developed, reviewed and be revised each school year. (BQB Legal)
Possible CNA/CIP Strategies
Dr. Lankford will let us know about the actual expenditures at a later date in the year. This is in process...I will add to this spreadsheet before Friday.
Considerations
This year we used Excel to create our plan. We have used 806 Technologies, Plan for Learning, in the past. Due to multiple changes and possible audits both in-house and desk, consider purchasing 806 Technologies again. They have enhanced their platforms and offer more assistance. Pop-ups will offer tips and hints as the plans are written. It is much cleaner and will keep us on track.
