ARSA Community Weekly Bulletin ~ 4/15/19
Week of April 15th
Principal Taylor's Message
Thank you to our parent community for ensuring that scholars were here on time and rested this past week as we engage in our first round of STAAR Testing. It takes a village to help and support our scholars and we as the ARSA staff truly thank you! All of our scholars, 6th - 8th grade, did a tremendous job with a very full week of testing. Our ARSA staff was phenomenal in creating the optimal testing environment in the entire building.
I am sure they were very tired after this week. We resume our normal bell schedule and scholars are to have their proper uniform, ID badges around their neck and visible, and their binders ready to learn.
As we look ahead, all scholars have May STAAR assessments Spring ACPS. The STAAR results for this first round will be back in a couple of weeks and 8th grade parents will be notified. The remaining time of April and all of May are focused on finishing strong!!
Please make sure that as parents you are checking PowerSchool for grades and listening to school phone messages with important information about extra instructional support and end of year activities. If you have any questions, please call the campus 972-892-5400.

Spotlight on Mrs. Ortega
It is national library week and I would like to spotlight Mrs. Ortega. She is an awesome library assistant. Not only does she work in the copy center part time, but she assists me in the library the other part of her day. She is always considerate and passionate about helping students and me and the library with whatever needs to be done. Mrs. Ortega always has a smile on her face and is willing to go the extra mile.
Spotlight on the 8th Grade Team
I want to spotlight and say thank you to everyone who was a part of recognizing me as an Assistant Principal at ARSA this week! The Class of 2023 students and Instructional Leadership Team make leading the “Penthouse” look effortless and I want to give you all a special thank you! I am for blessed that I get to work with each of you daily. Thank you for believing in me and trusting me as a leader here at ARSA. You all are the real MVPs!
Spotlight on Ms. Larsen
I would like to spotlight Ms. Larsen. She has been the epitome of “One Band, One Sound” this week in her role of testing monitor for the end of the 7th grade hallway. She has been PHENOMENAL! She consistently checked to make sure we had everything we needed as well as helped us maintain order in the classrooms and hallways. Having responsible monitors during testing season is so vital to the success of our kids. Thank you Ms. Larsen for taking your post so seriously. Your contribution during this time has had such a positive effect on our testing experience.
