Eagle Eyes Blog
The school blog is a platform dedicated to sharing news, events, and stories from our vibrant community. Similar to the newsletter, it serves as a central hub for students, parents, and staff to stay informed and engaged with all the exciting happenings at our school, just in more depth. We encourage you to visit our latest blog entry on our website and get the scoop on our recent sports programs (volleyball, football, cross country, and cheer). It's a great way to stay connected with BCS!
Additionally, we welcome contributions from students, parents, and staff. If you have a story to share, an event to promote, or any other content that you believe would be beneficial for the school, please feel free to reach out to Anna Magallanes at amagallanes@1bcs.org. We value your input and appreciate your involvement in making our school great!
Doughnut Daze - Support your Student Council
Student Council is an integral part of the high school experience. It serves as a platform for students to develop leadership skills and take on responsibilities that prepare them for future endeavors as well as learning how to collaborate with their peers, making decisions, organizing for events, and advocating for their fellow students. By actively participating in this club, student engagement is encouraged ad a sense of belonging is fostered within the school community. It is through student council that participants become active in shaping their educational experiences and prepare to become responsible and engaged citizens in their community beyond high school. One way you can support this club is by joining us for "Doughnut Daze". This event is a great opportunity to share an on-campus breakfast with your kids as you indulge in delicious doughnuts and support our BCS Student Council as well. Open to all family please join us in the commons/cafeteria on November 15th at 7:15 AM.

Elementary Field Trips
Field trips are incredibly important for elementary kids as they provide them with an opportunity to learn outside of the confines of the classroom. These trips offer a hands-on learning experience that allows children to engage with their surroundings in a more practical and immersive way. Social interaction, teamwork, and getting to know your peers better are also valuable educational experiences that students take with them as they are making memories to last a lifetime. This week in particular, there were several field trips, below you'll see a handful of pictures - and more will come in the next blog along with details on the field trips.
3rd Grade "Bubble Gum" Math
Learning 3rd grade multiplication facts is so incredibly important as it serves as a foundation for more complex mathematical concepts in the future. By mastering multiplication facts at an early age, students develop a solid understanding of number relationships and patterns, which enhances their overall mathematical fluency. Mrs. Hallum's class is having fun learning while improving their skills and boosting their confidence doing what they call "Bubble Gum" math. Each student has a bubblegum machine on her classroom bulletin board, and when they master an area of their multiplication facts, they get a round paper bubblegum to put in their machine as well as a piece of bubblegum to chew on in class. The ultimate goal is to have all multiplication facts mastered through the "12's" - once this goal is reached, each student will receive a whole bag of bubble gum to chew on! Thank you Mrs. Hallum for taking the time to make learning fun, and WAY TO GO 3rd graders!!! This is one area where mom and dad want you to have all the gumballs you can get!
Eagle Eyes Watch Program
Our school recognizes the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone, and this year we have an opportunity for volunteers to dedicate their time to join our team as an Eagle Eye Watch Member. Eagle Eyes is a volunteer-based group at Brazosport Christian School tasked with providing a physical, armed security presence aimed at deterring criminal activity on campus. By joining this program, you will not only help create a safer environment, but also foster a sense of unity and responsibility within our school. Volunteers will need to be ready to perform consistent patrols of the campus perimeter, report criminal activity, attempt to de-escalate a threat verbally (when possible), and engage a threat with necessary force if needed. If you are interested in volunteering as a part of the Eagle Eyes Watch Program or have any questions, please contact security@1bcs.org or use the link below.
