CMPS Hornet Bookmobile

Summer Tour 2018

Why Take Books on the Road?

Central Montcalm Public Schools in partnership with White Pine District Library is excited to bring students and their families our first ever Summer Hornet Bookmobile. Just because summer starts doesn't mean reading ends.

Lots of children, especially struggling readers, forget some of what they learned during the school year. We call this the "summer reading slide." In order to prevent this, we want to make sure that kids have access to books and reading activities all summer long. We will also have strategies that parents can use to help their child when reading at home.

In addition to all of this, students will be able to sign up for the White Pine District Library Summer Reading Program. You will receive a goody bag when you sign up.

We will be stationed at four locations around Central Montcalm School District on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer. Come pick out books, get a snack, listen to stories, and play games. Students in grades K-3 and their families are invited to attend.
