Class of 2022 Weekly Review
Week of October 5, 2020
A Note from Mrs. Opdyke
We had a very successful re-opening for the Hybrid 2 group and that is all thanks to our students and their families! We thank you for your support and individual preparation that made our first days back together amazing! We are excited to do it all over again with our Hybrid 1 students on Monday.
If you are returning to the building this week, I ask you to remember a few things to help everything go smoothly for all of us:
- Make sure you have a face covering to wear when in the building and when you cannot space yourself 6 feet from other people - yes, that includes walking in from your car or bus.
- Follow the hallway signs - stay to the right when it is not a one-way hallway, use the appropriate stairwell, and keep your physical distance from others as much as possible.
- Use the virtual sign in/sign out sheets. Just as you would sign in or out on paper, we will be asking you to do this via QR code.
- If you or someone in your household is sick - stay home! The benefit to the hybrid model is that if you feel well enough to do your work virtually, you can! Make sure to reach out to your teachers as soon as possible if you need to do this. Parents we ask that you fill out the Hybrid Student Working from Home form if your child is unable to attend in person, but will attend virtually on their Hybrid days. But please remember that the expectation is that you are in physically in school on your Hybrid days.
Mr. Monk, Mrs. Davis, and I will continue to be here to help in any way that we can. Please reach out if you need anything! However you are joining us for your classes, I wish you a successful week 5 of the school year.
Please stay healthy and well!
Mrs. Opdyke
From the Class of 2022 Officers
Jerry Qin, Class President
Hi, I’m Jerry Qin, the Class of 2022 Student Body President. I am thrilled to say the first day of hybrid was a success! It is amazing to see everyone back in person and making their way around South in the crowded (not really) hallways. The school almost seems empty when there are less than half the students in the building, but we should be excited for our steps to the return of a regular school day. Even if our numbers are spread thin and wide, we are the CB South Titans, and I know we will achieve all sorts of goals. This will be a different year compared to any others, so everyone will have to be there for each other and giving one another encouragement throughout the year. Please know that Sean and I are here for any questions and ideas that you all have for the school year. Good luck everyone and remember to wash your hands!
Sean Burke, Vice President
Hello, my name is Sean Burke, and I am the Junior Class Vice President. I hope that everyone is excited to enter the hybrid model, and for those that are remaining virtual, that the continue to keep up the great work. This week I was able to go back into class, and I think that while the hallways and classrooms may look different. The spirit of our class and our school is alive and well. I am very proud of the CB South community for coming together during this crazy time, and I hope that we can return to the school events that we all love moving forward. Although it is a complex process, it is one that requires everyone's support. We must all work together to move forward and make this year the best it can be. If anyone ever has any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jerry or myself through email, social media, or text. I hope everyone has a great rest of the year!
Mr. Bui, Class Advisor
Hello Class of 2022 Titans! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful school year so far. It has been so exciting to welcome students back to the building. I, along with all your teachers, staff, and administrators, are so thrilled to see the life and spirit of our students in person again. At the same time, whether you are virtual or hybrid, we still feel your presence, your grit, your brilliance, and your character here at CB South. That is what makes you Titans. I am so proud of how hard everyone has been working - no matter what, you trounce adversity, you spread kindness, and you exude greatness. I also appreciate everyone’s conscious efforts to keep one another safe and healthy. Continue to lean on one another and remember that together, we are "Titan Strong." I am honored to be your class advisor, and I look forward to the great year ahead of us. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or simply to connect and say hello. Have a great year, everyone!

SAT Subject tests are often required by more selective colleges and universities.

AP course exams: The exams take place during the first two weeks of May. Students work with their current AP teacher in joining the AP class through their Collegeboard account. Payment for the exams will begin at some point in January.
